A Night at the Museum: Bootlegger Bash
Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019
6 - 11 p.m.
Keys History & Discovery Center
and Islander Resort Conference Center, MM 82
For one night only, we’ll harken back to the Keys’ rum-running days where the prohibition contraband will be flowing and casino gaming chips will be flying! Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, a delicious dinner and dessert, as well as an opportunity to bid on enticing trips, jewelry, personal indulgences, and much more in the live and silent auctions—all while having a roaring good time!
A Night at the Museum supports the Florida Keys History and Discovery Foundation, which operates the Keys History & Discovery Center, a world-class museum that preserves and shares the incredible history and unique environment of our Upper Keys community through two floors of permanent and rotating exhibits on historically and ecologically significant subjects. We are thrilled to be one of three museums nationwide selected to host the traveling exhibit On Fly in the Salt: American Saltwater Fly Fishing from the Surf to the Flats, opening in late October and on loan from the prestigious American Museum of Fly Fishing. Proceeds from the event also support our most popular program, the Keys History & Discovery Presents lecture series which provides a wonderful education and enrichment opportunity for locals and visitors alike, with attendance averaging more than 130 people per lecture.
